In response to the government’s new Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, Parvis School of Economics and Music, Eastbay has launched a groundbreaking wellbeing initiative this January. The programme, designed to address the holistic needs of students, combines cutting-edge technology with traditional pastoral care methods.
Headmaster Dr. Jonathan Hartley explained the school’s approach: “We’ve developed a comprehensive wellbeing strategy that leverages digital platforms to monitor and support student mental health, whilst maintaining the human touch that is so crucial in education.”
The initiative includes a bespoke app that allows students to track their emotional state and access personalised resources. Additionally, the school has introduced AI-powered chatbots to provide 24/7 support for students facing mild anxiety or stress.
In line with the government’s focus on digital transformation in education, Parvis has also integrated advanced learning analytics into its curriculum. This system provides real-time insights into student performance, enabling teachers to tailor their instruction more effectively.
The school’s unique position as a specialist in both economics and music has informed its approach to wellbeing. Students now benefit from music therapy sessions and economics workshops that explore the link between financial literacy and mental health.
